Noel Vallejo

CEO/President

Noel Vallejo is TestOut's visionary architect. In this capacity he leads the Company's strategic initiatives, identifies market opportunities, and drives product direction. Vallejo incorporated TestOut in 1991 with the vision of combining interactive training curriculum with information technology to develop tools that would improve the way people learn and retain information. This experienced-based training (EBT) remains the foundation that all of TestOut's solutions stem from. Prior to founding TestOut, Vallejo worked as a market analyst at Novell Education. His expertise in interpreting market needs have been instrumental in the creation and continued growth of TestOut's technology. He earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

Don Whitnah

Executive Vice President

Don Whitnah is responsible for TestOut's research and product development. He is instrumental in creating new training product strategy. Whitnah is a veteran to course development with over 15 years' course development experience, including computer-based training (CBT) design, multimedia product development, and simulation development for testing and training environments. Whitnah's strengths lie in his ability to understand complex technology and translate that understanding into effective learning structures. Whitnah holds a BA in Near Eastern Studies (Magnum Cum Laude) from Brigham Young University and a Masters of Instruction Science, also from BYU. Through his years with TestOut, Whitnah has accumulated dozens of certifications, including CNA, CNE, CNI, MCP, MCTS, MCITP Server and Enterprise Administrator, A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, and CISSP (inactive).

Sean Trewartha

Chief Financial Officer

Sean Trewartha joined the TestOut team in June 2010.  He oversees financial management and reporting and performs multiple corporate functions, including controller, treasurer, and tax and long-range planner. Sean has over 20 years' experience in finance and accounting. He started his career working with Price Waterhouse Coopers (PwC) and then specialized in the technology industry. Prior to TestOut, Sean worked for various companies, including Novell, Inc., SonicWall, Inc., Certiport, Inc., and Prosper Learning, where his responsibilities ranged from domestic and international taxation and financial planning to analysis and controller. Understanding the value of technology and automation, Sean completed the CNE certification while at Novell and the IC3 and Excel Expert certification at Certiport. Sean is a certified public accountant and graduated from Brigham Young University with a Master of Accountancy in acknowledgement of major achievement in tax.

John Harris

Vice President, Sales

John J. Harris is TestOut's main principle over sales in North America and oversees business growth and development in all international markets. He joined TestOut in March 2013, bringing with him vast knowledge and experience in international sales and development and 33 years in the tech industry. Prior to joining TestOut, he worked for Novell for nearly 29 years. During his early years with Novell, Harris pioneered Novell's tech education training field and laid the ground work for what became the Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) program, the first IT Certification exam in the industry. From there, he began his career in sales and development as the worldwide manager of distribution for NetWare, a network operating system developed by Novell. Eight years later, Harris became the frontrunner of product development for Novell Embedded Systems Technology (NEST), a technology that is now used in 94% of the world's printers, and later became director of international sales for NEST. For his last nine years with Novell, he sold Novell's SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, one of the original providers of Linux open source software. Harris graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in psychology and has had continuing education courses at the University of Pennsylvania.

Ladd Timpson

Vice President, Marketing

Ladd Timpson drives all aspects of marketing for TestOut Corporation, including development and implementation of market and product strategies. He ensures that marketing strategies and activities are grounded in the vision and mission of the company, promoting the value of TestOut's end-to-end solutions for helping students become job-ready with leading IT certifications and experience-based LabSim® learning. Ladd is an accomplished and industry-recognized marketing and channel executive with a rich career history of leading teams to support revenue growth. He brings 27 years of leadership to TestOut. Prior to joining the company, he served in numerous product management, product marketing and channel executive positions at Novell, NetIQ, and SUSE. He played a major role in introducing many NetWare products to the market and built the channel, certification, and sustaining marketing activities that led to their worldwide market acceptance. In 2005 and 2006, he was recognized by VARBusiness as one of the Top 75 Channel Executives in the industry, and in 2006, he was featured on the cover of VARBusiness as a top channel trailblazer. Ladd earned his bachelor of science degree from Brigham Young University and an MBA with an emphasis in Marketing from Utah State University.

Ken Sardoni

Vice President, Course Development

Ken Sardoni has enjoyed a distinguished career in higher education and the IT industry. Prior to joining TestOut, he held executive management IT positions at Oracle Corporation and Steton Technology Group. Additionally, he held academic leadership, curriculum development, and faculty appointments at the University of Denver and the University of Phoenix. His role at TestOut is to guide course development teams as they create TestOut's technology training products. He combines his extensive experience in technology and education to create online training products that help students gain valuable technical skills and abilities that they can use to pass industry certification exams and qualify for careers in the IT industry. He earned a master's degree in computer information systems from the University of Denver and a bachelor's degree in computer science from BYU.

Nate Garner

Vice President, Engineering

Nate Garner leads TestOut's teams of software engineers and testers to create world-class simulation, training and assessment platforms. Nate became a TestOut software engineer in 2001, when TestOut's training products were delivered on compact disc. Nate helped transition TestOut products to DVD delivery and then Internet delivery. Nate led TestOut's engineers through several development language transitions from Delphi to C#, initially using Windows Forms and then WPF. Today, TestOut's technologies are created with HTML5 and JavaScript. Prior to becoming vice president of engineering, Nate held the role of software engineer, lead developer, architect, and director of engineering. Along the way, Nate returned to school to earn a bachelor's degree in IT from Western Governors University. He now holds several certifications, including A+, Linux+, Project+, Security+, CCNA, CIW Web Design Specialist, CIW JavaScript Specialist, and CIW Database Design Specialist.
